DAIKY PRODUCE REPORT. Messrs E. Griffiths ami Co. are in receipt of the following report from their London principalis, .Messrs Milk and Sparrow, London, dated u'th August:— Butter.—During the past few days wc have had some very fine weather, and should it continue it will have the effect of decreasing the production of butter i n this country, and also in France and Ireland, the supply of which up to the present time has been fairly heavy, and the Home make particularly has been very good, and this in a measure has somewhat made up for the de-

crease in the imports from foreign countries, but we certainly think that •*<: Khali feel the effects of this decrease a little later on. Danish: Quotation is again unchanged, but a firm market is reported. Siberian: There have ■nren 24,000 casks landed this week, which will no doubt prove to be the largest for this season. Trade opened quiet after the holiday, and some sellers who were not content to wait, rather forced the posi-1 lion, and reduced their quotations from is to 4s, but this soon had the effect of

bringing the buyers on, with the result that everything is pretty well cleared, and at the close the market is much [ firmer. French: The reduction announced last week had the effect of stimulating business, and orders for next week are w numerous that we expect it will be necessary to raise the price on sOkic grades.

Irish: There lias been a good tra;!e passing for both salted and unsalb'd

finest creamery Imtter, but factory makes have been slow. These have t'» compete with Siberian, and the lattei Is undoubtedly better value at the moment.

Canadian: So far only a few hundred boxes have been imported into this country, and as far as we can gather

there is not likely to f oe much butl»r trom this source this season. Australian and Xew Zealand: There are a few butters stilling ex store al' the time, some buyers preferring lo continue with colonial butter right through the summer. The s.s. Perioivs is due on the 9th rast., carrying mostly Queensland Gutters, and 'these look like meeting a good market. . Cheese.—New Zealand: Only a few are now on the market, but there js a steady enquiry for these goods all the time.

Canada: There is practically no change i n quotations, and there is a fair demand.
