Poultry—On Saturday we had a gOifTi average entry in all classes. Prices were very satisfactory, high rates being maintained throughout. There is a very keen demand for table birds, and vendors can rvlv on getting good prices for fat stulf. We quote: liens 2s In to 2s 3d. pullets 2s 2d to 2s 7d. cockerels 2s 4d to 2s M. purebred do. 4s :>d. ducks Is lid to 2s ad, turkeys (gobblers) os till, roosters is lid to 2s 4d.

In the mart a large quantity of shrubs, ornamental trees, and fruit trees sold well.

Fruit— This has been in small supply, Nelson and Tasmanian consignments only coming to hand. We quote: Tasmanian Stunners lis lid. Xelsou do. its to 10s: bananas, Fiji, ]2s; lemons !K pa.-sions 3s Oil.

Mart.—At the marl on Saturday we had a good entry of poultry, and prices were better than at close'of last sale. Hens (young) Is lid to 2s 4d, pullets 2s fid to 2s Bd, old hens Is fid to Is 3d. ducks 2s to 2s 4d. chicks fid to lid. cockerels Is lid to 2s 4d. Trees and shrubs sold at late rates.

Meat.—Our weekly sale of meat was Md at tin' mart on Saturday at U.:;u. Prices were about tlie same as at pre vious sale, and bidding was bits!; throughout.
