Lord Twcedmputh, who was 60 yew* of age, was educated at Harrow, and at Christ Church, Oxford, He wa* appointed a barrister of the Inner IViup.e ID 1874. He afterwards entered (>» »lk» and was Liberal M.P. for Berwick to 1880-04; Comptroller to Household, 1886; Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasury, and Chief Liberal Whip, 1892-84. lie was Lord Privy Seal and Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancashire, 1894-95? First Lord of'the Admiralty, 11)05-8; end Lord President of the Council, 1008.
