MOREY AND SON'S DISPLAY

RECORD RANGE OF DRESS STUFFS.

-Messrs. Atony and Sim arc in the thick of 11 spring goods sale, and tile stutf is going "like hot cakes,' 1 so big arc the values, so small the prices, so delightful the patterns, and so varied the choice. The great feature is the inviting display of dress stuffs in those iiliny tabrics mat eoninionsense, as well as "fashion, .decrees are the ■■ correct thing" for summer wear. The greater portion of the main shop is devoted to" a ma.'uiticut showing of these materials, arranged to facilitate inspection and thus facilitate selling. Delaines that cost slliwngs not so very long ago can be nad for so many pence per yard, and really the values are dazzling. The shop contains the largest.and best showing of delaine* yet made, ami fifty ladies can go to .'.ii.iv.s to-ilay, eaca buy a delaine, com-

pare notes and parcels and Una no two I alike Floral stripes are well represented, hut there is also every other imaginable fashionable design, including plain blacks, browns, creams, and navy ■bines 1 , ilcre may lie mentioned the all-over laces and insertions to match the above goods. Two-tone'striped zephyrs are piled high on the stands and counters in every conceivable tasty design. Embroidered delaine blouse' lengths, and embroidered white muslin blouse lengths 1 , are purse-openers, whilst the lirm can justly pride itself upon Hie lovclv selection of voiles, beautiful goods, no two alike. French cambrics, with linen linish, arc seasonable goods, and there is an extensive range in them. Special mention must be made of the black dress goods, in costume lengths and in piece goods, these including the finest and latest materials of the season.

The showroom is no less up-to-date, no less crowded, for, despite the extensions of premises from time to time, Messrs. .Morey and Son manage to cram every inch of available space with the new season's goods. The milliuerv is nicely shown, and the quality is of the finest. One pretty confection—one that will probably catch the eye early this morning- of a discerning' buyer—is of green crinoline and old rose, the ribbons', roses, and forget-me-nots being judiciously used. There is a charming abandon about a champagne colored crinoline straw, having for its further ailorni it gold-centred black marguerites and black plums set in black tulle, enlivened by ripe fruit and a large bow of saxc 'bleu. Jfeaiitifully-linled heliotrope awl white wisteria, aiid sweet peas in all the glory of their natural coloring, are features on some of the other hats, and the fashionable streamers of ribbon are u*d.

It is questionable whether underskirts have ever been nicer. Here they are in aecordeon-ploatod s'ilks. all colors'; whilst tlie white embroidered goods are nls'o selected with an eye to the special requirements of the district. There are boxes and boxes of th 0 prettiest of shirt blouses, in silks anil muslins, tucked and embroidered. A special feature is made of llii' empire gowns in cream and white lustre, and empire-style muslin frocks arc also a line which the linn was able to purchase upon very favorable terms, and which arc amongst the correct modes for the approaching season. The children have not been forgotten. There is a splendid range of children's embroidered coats and muslin dresses.'.

"If makes me wish my girls were little again." said a matron yesterday afternoon, after inspecting the goods. As usual, too, there is a pleasing selection of millinery for the little ones.
