BROWN TROUT OVA. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Friday. During the past season the Marine Department sold OGO.OOO brown trout ova to the following acclimatisation societies: Wellington, 400,000; Greymonth, 200,000; Southland, lOOjOOft; Nelson, 100,000; Jlawke'u Bay, 00,000; Oamaru, 50,000; Marlborough, 40,000; Stratford, 10,000. The ova, which was obtained from Otago and Canterbury rivers, was sold to the societies at 5i per thousand.
THE ROCK OYSTER TRADE. Wellington, Friday. Tho Marine Department states that the demand for rock oysters which w«3 so great at the beginning of the season that orders could not be filled quickly enough, has fallen off to such an extent that some of the pickers have had to be discharged. The season closes at the end of next month.

A meeting of the management committee of the Wanganui, Xapier, Taranaki and Manawatu Railway Emplpyces' hick Benefit Society considered the pro,posa of the Executive Council of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants on the question of establishing ■> Dominion sick benefit society and "resolved to recommend that no'change be made, as the present constitution and administration of the society is satisfactory to the majority of members.
