WAITAEA CLUB. (From Our Own Correspondent.) The annual gracral meeting of thn Waitara Cricket Club w ae held on Monday evening, the ehair being occupied by Mr. H. Spurdle. The statement of accounts was read by the secretary, showing the receipts, including balance brought forward 18s fil, and net proceeds of the comedy 'Jane" £lO, to be £2l 12s 10d, and the expenditure £ls 5s 3d, leaving a •redit balance of £5 17s 7d. The bal-ince-sheet was unanimously adopted.

The following officers were elected for the ensuing season:—President, Mr. W. Birdling; vice-presidents, Messrs. X. Borthwick.H. E. Vaughan, G. H. Stubbs, A. T. Lake, and R. Gribbon; captain, Rev. J. B, Brocklehurst; vice-captain, Mr. S. Eggleston; secretary and treasurer, Mr. A. Hawkins; committee.. Messrs. Dowsett, Bond, Purdie, W. Skol. ton, Brocklehurst, Eggleston, and Hawkins; selection committee, Messrs. Bond, Eggleston, and Dowsett; delegate to union, Mr. Eggleston. j Subscriptions were fixed: Seniors l 0.« 6d, juniors 7s (id, honorary members! 2s Cd. j The following new members were elected:—Messrs. Minifie, Scliolcs, Adlam, Kyle, and C. Tate. It was resolved that all subscriptions he paid prior to the first cup match, and that the first practice take place on Thursday, the 16th instant, when all those who intend playing are requested to attend, juniors included. A match will be played on the 23rd, when teams will he picked by the caplain and vice-captain. t The bat presented by Mr. A. T. Lake' ;ast season for the best batting average was won by Mr. Eggerton. Mr. R. Gribbon has kindly donated a bat for the best average this season.
