THE MINISTERIAL VETO.
RAILWAYMEN'S GRIEVANCE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch,, Last Night. At a .meeting of tlie Addington workshops' employees heKT.to-day, the following resolution 'was carried unanimously:—"Seeing that the only direct means of redress which the railway men have to rely upon lias been practically taken away from them by the Minister vetoing the decisions of the Appeal ' Board, this meeting deems it unwise to nominate or elect a member to represent the workshops department on the said Board until such time as Parliament has bad an opportunity of giving members of the service the full benefits intended by the Classification Act by removfaji the clausei which enables a Minister to anllify the judgment of the tribunal. Which should be entirely free from deyartmental interferences." The meeting endorsed the action of Sir. J. H. Jones in resigning from the Appeal Board, owing to the action of the Minister of Railways vetoing the decision of- the Appear Board.
