The progressive spirit of the Waver-ley-Waitotara Racing Cltfb is evidenced in the fact that it has increased the total stake money by £IOO for the coming meeting. Nominations for the handicap events close on Tuesday, October 19tflyand since the nomination fee has been fixed at the moderate sum of 10s a good response should result. It is 'quite a new experience for owners to be permitted, o n payment of 10s, to see Mic weights of an event worth £l2O. Tin dub is having its grounds improved and the grandstand enlarged. The work will 'be completed in time for the meeting, which is to be .held on Tuesday, November 9th.
