Dix and Melntyre, two country members oi the Wallabies, 'liave been expelled from the Union, The two remaining members remain to be dealt with. THE ASSOCIATION GAME. REFEREES' ASSOCIATION FORMED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. A New Zealand Association Football Referees' Association was formed in Wellington to-night, i the principal objects being to secure formalities in interpretations of rulings of the law of the game; to provide referees for all matches when requested to do so by the New Zealand Association; and to secure the punishment qt persons insulting referees. Wellington was fixed as the headquarters. The following executive officers were appointed:—President, Mr. W. Monckton (Taranaki); secretary and treasurer, Mr. W, Wood (Wellington). Each affiliated association will be asked to elejet a memiber of fthe management committee.

NORTHERN UNION GAME. The management of the local Northern Union Football League has received word that the Auckland team will play the return match ajtainst Taranaki at New Plymouth, on Thursday week, September 16. The match will be played on the Recreation Ground. ,

Amongst many congratulations received yesterday by Taranaki football enthusiasts respecting the previous day's victory over Auckland, the' following from Marlborough surely showed adequate recognition of the performance:— " President, Taranaki Rugby Union, New Plymouth.—Congratulations on your win. Bring your team down here and we'll play yon for the championship.— (Signed) Blenheim."
