Mr. Wells, manager of the New Zealand Clothing Factory, left by the mail train this morning for Dune'din, where he will select his new season's stock. Mr. Samuel Hill, for many years Government Valuer for Northern Taranaki. is being retired under the Government's retrenchment scheme. His duties will be taken over by Mr. Lloyd, wtio, it is understood, will be stationed at Hawera. At last night's meeting of the Taranaki Chamber of Tommeroe mention was made of the inconvenience that would be ■ caused by the Distrist Valuer being located at a place away from the provincial Deeds Office.
