The very heavy rainfall during tn:' last few days has done considerabl • damage in Northern Wairoa. Las: niglilt Dargaville township was inundated hy water to a depth of several indies, the river having overflowed it banks. Several business firms suffered heavy losses, the damage to guilds belonging to Sir. Adams, draper, running into over £IOO. The losses at Dargaville are nothing compared to those occasioned on the low roaches of the river, especially at Raupo, where cattle have been standing on flats for several clays with water up to their bellies and where not on" blade of grn«* is to be seen.
