•DISTRICT CLASSES FOR OFFICERS AND X.C.O.'S. A school of instruction will Im> held at New Plymouth next week. The instruction will be carried out during the week evenings and on Thursilny and Saturday afternoons. Dress.—Service uniform. .Supervision- under the officer commanding the district. Officers commanding elbrps are. requested to forward to the A.A.O. as early as possible a list showing the names of officers and non-commissioned officers who will attend (a) for the whole time, or (1>) for one or pibre evenings, number to lie stated.
SYLLABI'S. First Day.-7.4j p.m. Musketry generally; instruction in aiming, etc!, to be followed by a lecture if time permits. Second Day.—7.45 p.m. Skirmishing: the company in attack and defence; the battalion in attack and defence. (Officers.) Skirmishing: The company in attack and defence. (X.C.O.'S.) ' Third Day.—2.3o p.m.. toiwgrapby. 8 p.m.. mobilisation regulations; supply of ammunition and food in the Held': transport; military eiiginccriii.r (lmslv enfrciK-hmcnls). / ° Fourth day.—7.4,1 p.m.; service of protection, reconnaissance, and writhi" of reports. ° Fifth day.—7.43 p.m., issue of orders, etc. (specimen forms handed round): marches; general considerations governing attack ami defence (officers). Discipline and duties; marches (non-com-inissioned officer.-). Sixth day.—2.3o p.m., topography. This syllabus is liable to altera'tio-i to suit any unforeseen circumstances which may ariso.
