CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Nelson, Last Night. A serious llnod is being experienced at Motueka, where heavy rain caused the Motueka river to break its banks to-day. Hundreds of pounds of damage has been done to the protective works sit Whakurowa. It is still rainhg heavily, and there is danger of the river making another breach through what is known as the Blind River Channel, in which case a portion of the town will be in a serious position.
