In order to meet the estimated deficit of £8,000,000 in the I'JIO .budget, the French Treasurer proposes to increase the tobacco tax to produce an additional million and a half, alsu u\ soil to wine growers a Slate label to be affixed to each bottle of genuine wine, guaranteeing its purity, the cost of the label varying according to the price of the wine.
