FIRES.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Friday. A ten-loomed house in Lome street, owned by Mr. E. G. Jcllicoe, solicitor, now in KnglamJ, and occupied by several tenants, was damaged by lire" early this morning. There is an insurance of tiloo on the building in the Royal. The furniture is insured for .C2JS in ihe Ocean oliicc and £2OO in the United ollice.
One occupant, Mm. Margaret Milroy, severely injured one of her legs through jumping from an upstairs window when her escape by the stairs was cut oil'. A member of the fire brigade was injured by coming in contact with a broken electric wire, but his injuries are not serious.
