NORTH TARANAKI HUNT CLUB
FINAL MEET. The final meet of the North Taranaki Hunt Club took plate at the " Kennels," Mi'. G. Sole's, yesterday afternoon. The weather was all that could be desired, and consequently there was a very large attendance, over 100 boing present. Included in the number were several from Hawera who had been specially invited. Mr. Budge Gordon, the huntsman from the Wanganui-Ha-wera Club, was also present, and : ne had with him a half-a-dozen couple of hounds from his club, which, with the local club's hounds, made in all a pack of 24. The hunting throughout the day was very good, and although there were no kills, a couple of the runs covered quit« four miles each of good country with excellent jumping. During the afternoon exhibitions of jumping wero also given, and the onlookers were treated to a sight well worth going a long way to see. The class of horses taking part was a great contrast to those of twelve months ago, a fact which shows clearly what an excellent thing hunting is for raising the standard of horses in a district. The members of the club and visitors were hospitably entertained at luncheon and afternoon tea at Mr G. Sole's, and altogether this year's wind-up can be put down as possibly the hest th e club has yet had., Ah several of the visitors from Hawera are staying in the district for a few days, including Mr Gordon with the Hawera hounds, another meet has been arranged for Saturday next at Mr. Cole's, Waih\
