DISCOVERY OF EXPLOSIVES.
AMONG COAL OAHGOEB. Bf Gable-.—Press Association.—Copyright Received 19, 11.55 p.m. London, August 10. A tin cannister, containing six 4-OmiW packets of gunpowder, u«ed for blasting purposes at collieries, was discovered a few days ago in the cargo of Welsh coat unloading from colliers into the Jumma, moored in the Medway. It is mppoaed that the gunpowder had fallen accidentally among the coal at the mine. While the cruiser Duke of Edinburgh was coaling at Spithead yesterday from a South Wales collier, after a small quantity had been taken from the' buni kers, three mining cartridges were dllcovered. Careful investigation was ordered in connection with both the steamers, which were loaded at Penarth, but the cargoes were from different collieries.
