DAIRY COMPANIES' MEETINGS

ELTHAM. The annual meeting of the Eltham Co-operative Dairy I'aciory Company, Limited, was held in the Oddfellows' Hall on Saturday. Abuut 11)0 shareholders were present, the Chairman of Directors (Air. T. O. Hodgson) presiding. The chairman, in moving the adoption of the report and balance sheet, referred to the great reversal of opinion which had taken place in regard to sales aud consignment. Newspapers throughout the Dominion had last year recommended all factories to consign, but now different advice was tendered, and, the speaker remarked, the companies which had sold last year ,had done a great deal better than those who consigned. The Eltham Company instead of selling at 10% d, had by holding secured H'/idThe new factory though now practically completed and the machinery installed, would not be ready for manufacturing until October. It was resolved on the motion of Mr. Walsh to elect a Hunter road supplier to the'vacancy, as a mark of rejpect to' the late Mr, Carter, and Mr. Sutherland was elected. The retiring directors were Messrs Corbctt, Cleaver, and Murray, and Messrs Coibett, Kemp, McVean, Murray, Sergei, and Morrison were nomintcd, but Mr. Cleaver declined to stand, and Messrs Murray, Corbctt and McVean were elected.

Sir. W. J. Tristram was rc-apnointed auditor. The chairman moved : "That the capital of the company be increased to £20,000 by the issue of 5000 additional shares. Also that the company he registered under the Co-operative Dairy Companies Act, 1007." The chairman explained that all the present shares had been issued, and it was necessary to issue additional shares in order to increase the capital—Carried.
