VOLUNTEERING.
There was a good mus'ter of the Taranaki Guards on parade last evening. The company was exercised in field ivork, and after the conclusion of the parade team work was indulged in wider Private li'oldwater. At a subsequent meeting of the committee, Captain Mills announced that he had reeei'v-, id a donation of two guineas from Mr.' C. W. (.ovett to be devoted to ammunition prizes. The committee decided to sulwidise the amount out of company funds and purchase ammunition to be specially devoted to prizes. The Guards are holding a second social on Thursday evening next.
