AUCKLAND SESSIONS. By Telegraph*—Press Association. Auckland, Monday. The following prisoners who had pleaded guilty in the lower Court were sentenced ia the Supreme Court this morning—Thomas Herbert Ellison, aged 17, for theft of money from postal packet and forgery, was sentenced to one j ear's imprisonment with hard labor. Alex. Cameron, for obtaining money by false pretences, was sent to gaol for one year with hard labor. Alex. Hogg, for theft from a .dwelling, was sentenced to eighteen months' imprisonment. William Dickson and J. L. Winter, for similar offences, were sentenced to two years' imprisonment and one year's imprisonment respectively.
BREACH OF PROMISE ACTION SETTLED. Auckland, Last Night. It was announced in the Supreme Court to-day that a settlement had been made in an interesting case that had been listed for hearing, that of Florence Campbell Smith v. Cecil a. claim for £IOOO damages for alleged breach of promise of marriage.
