Wellington, Tuesday.— Regarding the stranding of the Himitangi at Foxton, the Marine Department has decided that no blame is attachable to anyone and that no further action will he taken. Durban, August 2. —A correspondent states that alarm is felt at the nonarrival at Capetown of the Lund Line's new steamer Waratah, homeward hound trim Sydney with 300 passengers aboard. The steamer left Port Natal on July 2G.

THE ROSAMOND. . The Rosamond arrived at 11 o'clock last night from Onehunga with about la tons of cargo. She left later for Wellington, taking away 35 tons of general cargo.
COLLISION IN OTAGO HARBOR. The Union Company's coastal steamer L ukaki collided with the Southern CompanL? Kotaro in the Victoria Channel on Thursday night. The Pukaki -was outward hound for tile West Coast; the Kotare had returned with timber from Waikawa, and had gone into port and taken in tow alongside the Rakiura, winch had been in dock and was takin» her to Dunedin. The Pukaki bumped into the Kotare'* port bow, damaging lhe rigging and belting. Since the Pu- „ , strained on her journey it is not likely that she suffered injury. A:i examination of the Kotare' made subsequently showed that she did not suffer serious damage. The rigging and beltng suffered injury, and the planking of lhe hull was fractured. The Riniu left Onehunga yesterday •> p.m. and is ilup hen* from Knwhin to-day.
