Ciiristchurch, Saturday Night. The final for the championship of thCiiristchurch Coif Club was played today, when B. B. Wood beat J. A. Gow 5 up and 4 to play. l'almerston North, Last Night. A strong teain from the Wellington liolf Club defciited Manawatu by 0 games to 3. one drawn.
The match arranged between Arthur Duncan, Wellington ex-amateur champion, and Clements, of Wnnganui, for the open championship was playeG. Slight showers fell and there had been much rain previously, so. there was no run on the balls. A large crowd followed a most exciting match, in which the fortunes continually varied. Duncan finished the first round" I up, the round representing 78 to Clements' SO. In tin afternoon both missed short puts badly, out after llrst Clements then Dunciin had been up, Clements pushed 2 up owing to missing of the puts. The cards were approximately—Clements 82. Duncan SC.
