THE COURTS.
A BARMAN FINED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, July 31. Arthur Chamliers, barman at the White Hart Hotel, was fined £5 by Mr. Haseklra, S.M., for supplying drink to a man already intoxicated. The magistrate said it would be quite legal to convict tile licensee through his agent, but in this case it would lie unjust, as he believed Lane, the licensee, knew, nothing about the supply to Gordon. The case against the licensee was dismissed.
