Mr. Woodard, hotel proprietor at Ashhurst. left on Thursday afternoon to visit the silver mine at the Woodville end of the Manawatu Gorge, and has never been seen or heard of since. Search parties are out in the hush and along the river, which is flooded bv Leavy rains. The river will be dragged when it goes down. Woodard has a wife and family. The Gorge road is still terribly blocked by slips, and there lave .been several accidents through attempts to get round there.
