IN NEW ZEALAND POLITICS.
UNIONS TAKE ACTION.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. A circular has Been forwarded by Mr, Arthur Rosser to all members of' local trades unions, stating that as a result of the resolution carried at Mr. Hogg's recent meeting in Auckland, considering it advisable to form a Labor Party in New Zealand politics, it was deemed necessary to at once give effect to the resolution and form a branch in Auckland of a strong New Zealand Labor Party, having in its platform as two main planks land reform and the curlency question. The circular goes on to say that while taking in as members ■ all workers who would subscribe to its platform, it had been decided to build up this new party from the trades unions similar to what bad been done by the Labor Party in Australia, and with tbi« end in view a meeting would be held shortly to formally institute the Auckland branch of the party. A prominent Labor leader informed a ' Herald \representativc to-day that such was the discontent in the country against the present Government that the proposed new .party should meet with instantaneous success at the coming polls. Tlie nationalisation of the land and a State bank note issue would be the two principal planks in the Labor platform. -Mr, Hogg w as to stump the Dominion on behalf of the new party, and be would be followed Irom time to time by other organisers.
