The tolal prize mnney is £3M, being an increase of £-0 on last year, The prize money n the Axemen's Cup remains the same as Ifist year—£l4o. The amount for the underhand chop is again £SO. The I cash for the world's championship chop of a two-foot standing block Is Increased to £3O. The two-mile bicycle nice will be worth £2O, and the fivemile £ls. All the other prizes are the ' s' ear - X° second prize will nii lUlowed in the chopping or couble-handed sawing events. The directors are procuring a sample of red beecli from Ohakiine, and if it proves satisfactory all the contests will be decided in that timber instead of white pine as formerly,
The Association has a credit balance of over £3OO in hand.
