It is ten years since this clever combination visited New Plymouth, <rj its mysteries are move unfathomable than ever. The whole cntcrtainme it was carried out most successfully. Mr. Heller opened the programme with some conjuring tricks, which showed imn t" be iveii-v clevt'i- and thorough jn his work. His cleverest trick in this respect' was undoubtedly that in wuich three ladies' rings are fired from a pistol, tin rings eventually being found round tiiu recks of three pigeons, whicb were " manufactured' from an omelette made in full view of the audience. After Mr. Black had rendered a c-mple of soil's very acceptably, Mr. Heller treated his audience to some of the tricks occasionally performed by alleged spiritualists, but the only references Mr. Hener made to spiritualism were a few remarks jocularly mads to one of the local committeemen as to whether, during some of the tricks, he " felt tiie spirits working." Mr. Heller's ha:ids and legs were firmly bound to a chair by the two committeemen selected from the audience, lie was then plaeea msule a cabinet, constructed of four uprights and some green baize. Some' handbells and two tambourines were also placed inside, and within a couple of seconds of Mr. He! ler's withdrawal from the public view till- bells were being rung with consider able vigor, but on the screen being pulled aside a couple of seconds later M.\ Heller was found to be still bound to the chair. Another couple .of seconds 'Of privacy sufficed for tiie clever entertainer to walk out of the cabinet a ifettered, not one loop or knot found in the rope. Mr. Heller returned to the cabinet and almost immediately was found to be Mod In exactly the same manner as before. Then followed a splendid set of moving pictures, educational, dramatic, and comic.
