FIRES.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Friday, iwo houses were burned at Northlands Just evening, and a third, occupied by Mr. Pearce, was injured and the furniture damaged. Mr. Pearce also owned one of those destroyed ,and a few months ago was 'burned out trom the same cause as in this instance -clothes drying before .'the fire. The Insurances are £1730.
This morning an eight-roomed house at Island Bay, next door to the hotel lost t-lnscl, was burned down. It was owned by H. Gilmer.
