Hayes and Goatley, Surrey's first pair, played out time. The attendance was fair. AUSTRALIAN SECOND ELEVEN. PROPOSED VISIT TO NEW PLYMOUTH. A meeting of delegates to the North Taranaki Cricket Association was held ill (Mfessre Webster and McKellaifs buildings on Friday evening to discuss the proposed visit of an Australian second eleven to N'eiw- Zealand next summer, Delegates were present from the New Plymouth and Carrington Road clubs, and also by invitation several members of cricket clubs. The letter from the New Zealand Cricket Council was read, and after discussion it was unanimously decided "that the North Taranaki Association heartily approves of the suggestion of the New Zealand Cricket Council and agrees' to contribute £SO as its share for a match at New Plymouth." It was pointed out that in order to meet this and other expenses in connection with the match, at least £IOO would require to be guaranteed. It was resolved that guarantee lists be sent to the various cricket clubs to be returned within a fortnight. A few of the leading business people will also be asked to assist if necessary. A list was drawn up and £ll guaranteed by those present.
