There was a large attendance of buyers, and .bidding was keen throughout, the whole herd of S3 cows averaging £8 2s. Early calvere made £7 to £l2, late calvers £3 10s to £0 10s, empty and very lata do. .£2 5s to £3, ibreediag sows £3 15s to £4 ss, store piga 15s to 17s, gelding £2li, mare ±llO 10s, gig £l3 10s, waggon £3O 10s. Sundries and furniture eold well.

VICIvERS & STEVENS' REPORT. There was a good yarding of cattle in our Inglewood yards on Wednesday, the majority being dairy cattle, which were keenly competed for and were .'li good demand, nearly everything being bold at the hammer. Mixed calves' made j from £1 2s lid to .11 10s, 15-months, steers £1 10s (id to £1 18s, empty! heifers £1 18s to £2 lis Cd, store cows £1 10s to £t2 10s, springing heifers £3 15s to £5 15s', springing cows £3 to £7 2s 6d. The dairy cows in the estate of 1). Penny made from £3 2s Gd to £G, and Mr. L. Longstaff's dairy herd made from £3 2s UJ to £8 7s Od.

The cows averaged just on £8 cash. Horses.—On Friday, at the Durham yards, heavy draughts sold at from £23 10s to £35, medium do. £lB 10s to £25, light harness horses £8 to £lB 10s, hacks £5 to £ls, weeds £1 | to £5. , 1 Cattle—At the Newmarket yards on Tuesday cattle of all descriptions wen, | yarded'in average numbers-, and bidding was spirited. Dairy cows sold at from £4 10s to £l2, heifers £3 5s to £7 2s Od, empty cows £2 2e to £3 15s, calves 17s' to" £2 18s. Beef was yarded in full numbers, and sold at improved rates. Oxen sold up to 23s per 1001b and cows 18s to 20s. Steers sold at . from £0 10s to £l2, cows £4 5e to £7 15s. A draft of 30 steers from the North averaged £ll Is. Sheep.—The Newmarket yards' iwere well filled on Tuesday, and sold at a further advance on late rates. Wethers sold at from Ids to £1 os, ewes 14s Od to £1 Is 3d, hoggets lis Od to 18s Od. The advertised store ewes sold at from l)s Od to 12s'.

Pigs.—Porkers sold at from 18s 9d io £1 2s, weaners 10s Od to 15s, baconera £2 0s to £2 10s.

Hides. Market firm. We quote: Extra stout ox 7d to 7%d, stout do. tl'/id to 6%d, medium do. 5%d to o'/ B d, light do. s'/ 2 d to 5%d; cows', best lines s'/ a d to 5%d, good a'/id to 5%d, stored •;%d to sd; kips od to 5%d, calfskins Bd to d'/jd, stags 4d to 4'/ a d, damaged hides 2'/ 2 d to 4'/ s d. Rest mixed to 23s Od. good 21s 3d to 225, inferior 17s to 18s 3d, rough fat l'/jd to l%d per lb. Bones £4 15s, horsehair Is 4'/j<l to Is D'/jd, cowtails Is Sil per dozen.

AUDINUTOX. At Addington 1 ivi; s'lock market on Wednesday there %vl-vc fairly large e".ltries of'stuck. Tile yarding of store sheep was smaller than last week, and hoggets formed the larger proportion. Some lines uf ewe hoggets were of good quality. The demand -was about the same "as last week, tat values were rather lower. An extra good line of 350 ewe hoggets made lis to 14s 9d, others l'2s Od to 13s Od, wetlier hoggets Ss lid to 10s, mixed lines at late rates. A line of three-quarterbrcd ewes, chiefly full-mouthed, sold at Us, haltbreds (of mixed ages), lis', aged ewes 8s 6d to L's Od. Wethers, of' which no forward sorts were ollered, made lis to lis Od. The yarding of fat lambs numbered ISOO. The quality showed a further foiling off. owing to the Home market being blocked. There was a limited, demand for export, aad only 055 were bought for this purpose at prices ranging from lOn to 14s. Two hundred and fifty-one were bought by butchers from its' upwards, one extra good pen making 14s lid. and the balance of the yarding was passed in. The decline in prices equalled Is Od to 2s per head. The overall prices at the works have been reduced and are now quoted as follows: Under .101b, l'/ 8 d; 301b to 421b, 3%d; over 421b, 3'/,d; and "crown" quality, S'/ 2 d. There was a large yarding of fat sheep, mostly wethers, of which there were a number uf prime heavy and medium weight iim,,. There were several lots of extra prime ewes'. The market opened rather slack, but competition improved, Jiutchcrs' ewes sold at about equal to last week's prices, in

Isome cases allowing a little improvement. There was good demand for wethers for export to fill orders in hand, but buyers were Operating on lower limits, and prices were easier by fully Is per head. Prime wethers 15s Od to 18s, extra to 18s l)d, lighter 13s to 15s, prime ewes 13s to 14s lid, extra to Ills I 4d, others 10s Od to 12s (Id, merino • wethers 10s to lis' 4d.

There wuo a very large entry of fafc cattle, aud a good proportion was of prime quality. The demand was weak, und sales were irregular a7id dillicult to effect. Vulues all round showed a decline of fully Is per 1001b us compared with late sales, cow and inferior beef being particularly dull of sale. Prime beef made IDs Id to 21s Oil, medium 18s to 19s, and cow aud inferior 13s to 17 a per lOUib. Steers made £4 15a to £lO 17s Od, heifers £4 to ill), cows £4 3s to £0 2s Ud. Vcalers sold at 4s Od to £3. The small yarding of store cattle consisted chiefly of old cows, and there was poor demand. Three-year steer* made £5 2s Od, 3-year heifers £3 17s Od, 2vcar steers £2 14s to £2 15s, 2-year heifers £2 9s, dry cows 20s to £3. Dairy cows, for the better sorts of which there was a keen demand, made £3 to £8 17s Od. There was a larger entry of pigs' thai ior some weeks past, and for fats the demand was weak and a dull sale resulted. Small stores, however, met with good enquiry. Choppers sold at £4, heavy baconers 55s to 02s, lighter 42s to s(>s (equal to 4d per iu), largo porkers 3Ob" to 40s, and smaller 28a to ,35s (equal to 5d to SVyd per lb), large I stores 28s to 345, medium 27s to 335, smaller 16s to 20s, aud weaners 12s to 15s.

BURNSIDE. At Burnsidc stock market on Wednesday 137 fat cattle were yarded. A fair proportion consisted of good bullocks and heifers, with a few pens of extra good bullocks and a number of light and inferior cattle. For good bullocks and heifers prices opened at an advance of 10s to 15s on last week's rates', but the rise was not maintained, and prices dropped towards the finish. Best bullocks £9 to £lO 10s, extra to | £l2 15s, medium £7 10s to £8 15s, I unfinished £o to £(i 10s, best heifers to £7 10s, extra to £8 17s Od, medium £5 10s to £6 ss.

Sheep.—3322 yarded, a big yarding. The sale lagged at the commencement, but recovered later, when late rates' were obtained. Best wethers 10s fld to !7s Od, extra 20s, medium 15s, best owes 13s 3d to 14s Gd, medium 12s Od. 'i-diuibs.—23oo yarded, a fairly good entry. J'rices dropped from Oil to Is per head. Best lambs to 14s (id, medium to good 12s to 13S Od, inferior 10s to 12s. , Pigs.—l3o yarded. Small pigs were | in short supply, and good prices were I obtained. The entry of both porkers

and baconers was heavy. Porkers were easier by about 3s per head, whilst baconers were linn. Slickers 8s to 12s, slips' 13s to 17s, stores 20s to 335, porkers 35s to 38s, light baconers 45s to 50s, heavy 555. to 00s.
