It was decided to comply with Auckland's wish to play the Taranaki-Auck-lanil match on September 11 at Auckland. The secretary's action in endeavoring lo arrange a match with South Auckland was confirmed. The South Auckland match will '«e played after the Auckland match, say, on September 14th or IStli, at Hamilton or Pacroa. Eltham aaked that a junior representative match be played this year in Eltham, and it was decided that if Wanganui send a junior team this year to Taramiki the match will be played at Eltham. The Clifton Club wrote asking that B. Moil's case be rc-opencd. The Union, however, do not purpose re-opening the

matter. The action of the hon. secretary in arranging the Patea-Wnimatc seeoni junior match at Hawera was confirmed. It was decided that the Waimate Stratford senior match he played at Stratford on Thursday, 22nd inst. If the match is played on that date, it was resolved to ask the Railway Department for excursion fares.

Owing to the final senior championship match having to be replayed, it was resolved to alter the dates of the trial matches to July 31st at Hawera and August sth at Stratford. The final for the second junior match was set down for 21st iiist.

It was decided by lot that the final for the first junior championship be played on the southern ground on a date to be lixed, the northern team to travel on the day they choose. In connection with the egg-throwing incident, at Inglewood, the Union found that the throwing was the work of small boys, and that the Clifton team is innocent' in the matter. la regard to the alleged misconduct of the Stratford first junior team at an hotel in New Plymouth, jt was decided, failing a complaint from the hotelke'eper, to lake no action in the matter. No nrrangciwnt |»vas piuul'e »'c ill North v. South junior match, as no representative match has yet been offered.

THE CLIFTON CLUB. (From Our Own Correspondent.) 'About fifty members and friends of the Clifton 'Football Clulb met at the Club Hotel on Thursday evening, when the three gedd medals presented by Mr. A. T. Lake for competition were presented to the successful players. An •excellent spread was prepared by Mr. Lake. His Worship the Mayor (Mr. W. F. Jenkins) occupied the chair. During the evening songs were contributed by Messrs. Hart, Proctor, Farmer, Jackson, Lash, Cain, and Wilkins. A long toastlist was also disposed of, and the gathering passed oil very successfully. Great credit is due to Mr. Lake for the excellent manner in which he catered for the

gathering. The Waimate Club has not yet acceded to the request of the Union that their match with Stratford be played at Stratford on Thursday. Waimate unfairly claim the right to again toss for choice of grounds, a very unsportsmanlike action in view of the fact that Stratford travelled over to Manaiafor the previous match. On the question of the ground the Union is not iiltciy to recede one iota, although in regard to the date Waimate might with some justification object to play on other than their half-holiday or usual playing day. It is understood, however, that the date is immaterial to the Waimate team. In the meantime, if the match is not definitely arranged to-day, to be played on Thursday at Stratford, the Union executive has decided to postpone 't, and the North v. South match will take place at Stratford as originally fixed. A definite announcement will be made ill Monday morning's paper.
