The su'bjecl of the meeting was for the committee to meet the riunket nurse and ti hear her report on the work she had done since the commencement of her duties in Xew l'lvmouth. ■Miss Warnoek stated Llvat she had under he r care 37 babies, also that eight mothers had consulted her on the subject of their own health. She had received many letters', which she had answered, from mothers at Paten, Manilla, Toko, Uroimi, Bell Block, and lataraiinaka. All the babies on humanised milk wore doing "well, one child gaining on an average of 51b a month. There was less siclkncss just now among the infants, on account of the colder wea.ther.
The nurse at the close of the meeting tendered her resignation to Mrs. Matthews, the local secretary, which if.' to lake effect on the 31st October. Steps will be taken at once to till the vacancy. 'lt was proposed by Mrs. Brash and seconded by Mrs. Chancy that an expression of the society's warm thanks I)nd appreciation ihe sent to Mr. and Mrs. Mcllvride for their hospitality to the Plunket nurse during the four and a-half months that she has been in New Plymouth. She has received from the'm every attention and much kindness. Miss Warnodc is now the guest of Mr, and Mrs. Smith at the Imperial Hotel.
