TIIE CLIFTON CLUB. ' A vote was taken for lite best senior player and also the best third player for the season, medals fo r whom were derated by Mr. A. T. Lube, of the Clul> Hotel. The successful players were: Seniors, J. ])u Blois; first juniors, H Bond; second juniors, P. llortensen. The medals wore presented at a smoke concert at the Club Hotel last evening. The secretary of the Clifton Club received a wire from the secretary of the Union at three o'clock an Thursday afternoon during the progress of the Clifton-Eltham senior match that a meeting of the Union was to be held that evening; consequently owing to the shortness of the notice the club . was unable to be represented at the ■ meeting. Considering that the club hi., several important matters to bring ueEore tile Union they should have had reasonable notice of the meeting So as to have given the club a chance to be represented. '
