COMMERCIAL CONVENTION ARKANUED. By Cable.—Press Association—Copyrignt Received July 14, 8.35 p.m. Paris, July 14. The French Chamber of Deputies, despite the argument of several deputies that France was giving Canada the benefit in the minimum tariff of too niuny articles, almost unanimously ratified the French-Canadian commercial convention as slightly modified in the Senate. M. Cruppi (Minister for Customs) emphasised the advantages of the convention, especially in tiic mailer of wines and silks, and declared that its rejection would mean the application ol a. general tariff in respect of French products.
