DELAYED VALUATION ROLL. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Feilding, July 9. At the Fcilding Borough Council's meeting last night Wo Mayor stated that the Valuation Department was treating the council to an exasperating delay in supplying the valuation roll". Although the roll was promised week! ago, it was not yet to bund, and the council could not get its rate notices out and collect the rates. The Mayor said it was all very well for the Minis ter to say that local bodies shorn,, -in sist the unemployed, hut Feildhy ..«. prevented from dnnig so—although desirous of giving assistance—by the dilaloriness of the Valuation Department. Unless the roll came soon, the cmu'e'l would have to consider the question of reducing the permanent staff.
