A lire which on-iin,,, ra 2.10 this morning gutted 1n,., toliaeconist's s'nop in Pabnerslon Street occupied by Mr. A\ alts and owned by Mr. Miraso'n, and also did some damage to the adjoining building owned by Munson and occupied by Miss Adanison, fruiterer. A building on the other side of Watts', owned and occupied l, v Leaver, saddler,' with C2OII new stock, was damaged. .Munson was insured for .r.200 on each of Ins buildings, Watts aot) on the stock, and Leaver C3OO on tin. building and L2I) on the stock. A lire also broke out in ;1 bedroom of .1. Macnainara's boos,, at the other end of the town, but was extinguished before much damage was done. \V. McNamara, who slept in the room, was almost suffocated by smoke when his brother discovered and extinguished the lire.
