DRESSMAKING CLASSES

AT THE TECHNICAL SCHOOL. In connection with the dressmaking class at the Technical School, it has been decided to start a demonstration das.-:, with the object of instructing students in the art of cutting out, showing also that any design of any garment may 'be cut from an ordinary tight-fitting draft, it is essential that a student taking up this art as a means of livelihood should know this. Many students who have had a short course in dressmaking and are able to turn out n garment to their credit, providing they have paper patterns and direction's ready to hand, lind themselves seriously handicapped if jihieed in a position that such patterns are not .procurable. This new course aim* at making thos'e who go through it independent of bought patterns and able to rely on their own knowledge of how to cut out any ilcsijii that may be desired from a'plain I dr.iil. Students joining this demonstration class will find the benefit of hjstniction received when they e»ine lo the practical part of dressmaking and ilrcss-ciillmg. The knowledge .mined will :be of material benelit in so far that a student will know liow to go about her cutting out, thereby saving the time that would otherwise be wasted in waiting her turn to be shown, thus getting through more work in the term.
