INFLATION OF LAND VALUES. Sydney, June 23. The Sydney Morning Herald, commenting on the interview with Sir Joseph Ward, says:—"We scarcely need Sir Joseph Ward's assurance that New Zealand ia sound. Her production t'nis year is greater than ever nnd there is no reason to apprehend there will .e any serious halt in its steady exp'insi.m for an indefinite number of years to come." The Herald adds: "The. fact that the drop ii the value of the chid product—wool—should have given the country such a severe shock, is tne best evidence we have that thcro was an undue inflation in its land values."
