LAND SETTLEMENT SCHEME. LIHEIIAL PROVISIONS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Lust Night. Three settlements for retrenched civil Servants are being provided by the Government, one about eight miles from Kihikihi or Knwa railway station, on the North Island Main Trunk line; another at linurimu, and the third at Owhangn, both on the Main Trunk, south of Taumnrunui. Applications for ami are to be invited shortly from reined civil servants whose superannuation allowance does not exceed £75 per annum, mid the opportunity offered is such than within twelve months the new settlers should be producing from their holdings'. The Kihikihi settlement is reached by a good formed road, and on it there !ftn * i o « g toen /'? aII fanns o£ fr °m 100 to 180 acres of fern or ti-trce country, while at Baurimu and Owhanga the settlements adjoin the main line and are of hush country subdivided in similar areas to the Kihikihi settlement.
