In the Supreme Court to-day Charles M'Faddcn was sentenced to ia months' imprisonment for theft, and Peter Stewart to two years' imprisonment for shooting a steer with intent to steal the carcase. A HEAVY SENTENCE. Napier, Wednesday. In the Supreme Court Mr. Justice Chapman imposed the maximum sentence of ten years' imprisonment on Robert R. At the Supreme Court to-day, Mary I Walsh was found guilty of the'theft -if I . nine £1 notes from a man on the 8 Hastings' racecourse, and John (Jurri-j, of aiding and abetting, and they were each sentenced to 18 months' imprisonment. Puka Waata, a Maori of about middle age, was acquitted on a charge of perjury at Wairoa.
