IMPERIAL PRESS DELEGATES.

IN SCOTLAND. HONORED BY GLASGOW UNIVERSITY:. Received June 23, 12.25 a.m. London, June 22. The Press delegates were the guests of the Glasgow Corporation to-day. They inspected the North British Locomotive Works, employing 8000 men, and then joined the ladies on a steamer trip on the Clyde. The Lord Provost and many Glasgow notabilities were aboard. Tiicy visited the Fairfield shipbuilding yard. Here the Australians, with Captain R. Collins (Federal Agent-General), boarded the Australian destroyers that aru being built. Standing on the keel of one they cheered the future navy. , Continuing the cruise, the representatives viewed the Clyde yachting carnival at Rothesay. At the University in the afternoon, tlie Principal and Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Donald Macalister, conferred the honorary degree of Doctor of Laws on the following 'delegates, who were attired in scarlet robes:—

•Sir Hugh Graham, proprietor of tflc Montreal "Star,' Mr. J. A. M.icdonald, managing editor of the Toronto "Globe," Canada. Mr. E. S. Cunningham, editor of Melbourne " Argus." Mr. P. YV. Ward, editor-in-chief of tile Sydney "Dailv Telegraph." Mr. M. H. Park, M.A., editor-in-chief of the "Cope Times," South Africa. Mr. Stanley Reed, editor of the "Times of India," Bombay. Tlie Marquis of Bute, in the presence of n large gathering, referred to the conferring of the degrees on the delegates as a tribute to the services rendered by the British Press throughout the world. Mr. Macdonald thanked the university for the honor conferred upon the delegates and the Press. In the evening a Corporation dinner was held in the City Chambers.
