AUTRALIA v. WEST OF SCOTLAND.

London, June 17. The match 'between the Australian cricketers and the West of Scotland team commenced at Glasgow today in bright weather, on an easy wicket and in the presence of 2000 spectators. The Scotsmen scored 244 runs. TenJlant, the international Rugby player, scored 80 runs in seventy minutes. The Australians have lost two wiekets for 102 runs. Hartigan (not out) has 61 to his credit.

EfTEROOLONIAL CRICKET. By Telegraph.—Press Association. CJiristehurch, Friday. At a meeting of the management committee of the New Zealand Cricket Council yesterday, a letter was received from the South African Cricket Association fa reply to ah invitation to the South African team, visiting Australia in 1910-11, to play a series of matches* in New Zealand, stating that nothing definite had been arranged between the Association and the Australian Board of control in reference to the visit. The matter was left for discussion at the triangHlar conference to be held at Lords this summer. The South African Association suggested that v the New Zealand Association should allow the invitation to stand over till after the conference, when it will be glad to entertain negotiations regarding a visit td New Zealand.

A letter was also received from the Australian Board of Control stating that it would be possible to arrange for a visit of a second Australian eleven to Sew Zealand next season if the date agreed upon would enable the team to return home in the beginning of December. >

It was decided also to n sk the affiliated associations to assist to finance the tour of an Australian team- to .New Zealand next season on lines similar to those on which the Jlarylebone visit was carried out.
