It was decided that the No-license League be urged to establish social clubs ior. young men with a view to countera/t the attractions provided by licensed houses. At ten o'clock, the Convention continued the annual meeting of the New Zealand Alliance, which had been adjourned from Tuesday. Hev. .Mr. Dawson then read the annual report as amended. Reference was made to the visit of tiie American ileet to Auckland during the year and the refusal of the entertainment committee to help to carry out the Admiral's desire that the men should not be given drink. This refusal led to indescribable .scenes of drunkenness oil the part of the American"sailors in New Zealand. This' had the effect of increasing the no-license vole. Adams wished to be relieved of the duties of general secretary of New Zealand Alliance, of which due W. lsitt was elected to the position of

general organiser • for the Dominion. The Rev. J. Dawson was elected general secretary of the New Zealand Alliance. The Rev. A. Doull moved: "That the amended constitution and rules of the New Zealand Alilauce, of which due notice has been given in terms of sections 12, 13 and 14 of t.lie Alliance Constitution, 18'JS,, lie now adopted, and tint upon the Dominion Convention agreeing to the constitution, the New Zealand Alliance and the Dominion Convention shall henceforth be one and the same body, to be known as the New Zealand Alliance.'' The motion was carried. The executive was appointed as follows:—Messrs' A. R. Atkinson,, A. G. Bennett, 1!. G. Denton, T. U. Finlav, W. T. Kcarslev. A. lloby, li. Lowe, T. Nicol, E. W. Pet'herick, J. Leigh, and the Revs. A. Dewdney, ,1. J. North, W. J. Williams, W. J. Coinrie Fee, F. W. Isitt and Mr. J. Brown. , The. next convention is to be held in Wellington next year.
