-Mrs. George's orchestra has been engaged for the Fitzroy Fire Brigade bull and the Turamiki Garrison Hand ball. Complete arrangements for the Tav-lur-Carrington benefit concert will be made at Friday night's meeting of the Beautifying Association. A final reminder is given of the rccitai of Mendelssohn music to take place tliis evening in fit. Mary's Church. After tae oll'ertory (which will lie devuted towards the organ improvement scheme) a new work to New Plymouth will be sung, ■the Laudii Sion, consisting of solos, quartets and choruses. The work is full of dramatic power, besides passages ot great beauty, giving ample scope for every shade of expression. The accompaniments are written for full orchestra; these will be played on the organ alone, which will illustrate the dill'erail kinds of instruments as far a* can possibly be done. - Many weeks have been spent in preparing this, and it is earnestly hoped the public will accord a liberal support by their presence and financial assistance.
