T'lie President offered to donate two I prizes for the best-kept gardens in the I borough, competition being limited to holdings of about a quarter of an acre. Mr. Sandford suggested that at future shows the committee should endeavor to arrange the exhibits better. The day of the flat table had passed, and it was time for the Society to take a step forward in this direction, He was strongly of opinion that no unnamed exhniit should be allowed to carry off a prize in a section where the catalogue said exhibits should be named. Naming was • easy and of great educational value.— I Mr. Pcpperell said it was only in a fewcases the society said the exhibit must be rightly named, and he was sure no wrongly named exhibit had carried off a prize where the catalogue said "righllv named."—Mr. F. Goodacre said that in several instances last year incorrect nomenclature had won prizes. He drew attention to the fact that the society was offering prizes for the best six double pelargoniums. There was only one in existence.—lt was decided to make a recommendation to judges that they should give points for correct naming. The committee will be recommended to arrange the next show not later than December Oth,

It was decided to make a recommendation to the committee to arrange an autumn sliow.

A letter of condolence was directed to be forwarded to Mrs. Doekrill on th« death of her father.

Voteß of thanks to the outgoing officers, to the Press, and to the chairman concluded the business.
