LICENSING COMMITTEES.
AUCKLAND HOTELS CLOSED. By Telegraph.—l'rcsa Association. Auckland, Last Night. The Auckland City Licensing Committee decided to-night to close ine 101I0Wing hotels: Bricklayers' Anns, in Federal Street, owned by Campbell, jinrenfried and Co.; the Railway Terminus Hotel, lieneh Road, lease of which was held by Hancock and Co.; the Newton Hotel,' Kjariuiguhapu Road, lease held bv Haueoek anil Co.; Park Hotel, Welleslev Street, lease held by Campbell, En renfried and Co.; l'it/.voy i-fotei, W'akelichl Street, owned by the Great Northern Brewery. The maximum number of hotels the committee had power to close was 14 and the minimum 3. The brewers estimate the loss, as between th; value of the places named as hotels and their value as unlicensed houses, at between £IO,OOO and XIB,OOO. Nelson, Last Night. Tile Motueka Licensing Committee toiay unanimously refused eleven o'clock extension.
