Mr. Justice Kdwards granted divorces in the following ea*'eM Ethel .Maude Willoughhy v, Alfred Seymour Willoughby, on tlie ground' jf desertion. 'lt was stated that respondent lived on his wife's property till he could get no more, and then deserted her. He never [>aid a .penny i'or her support. Cornelius McPike v, Charlotte MePike and Jo'lm Waite co-respondent, on the , ground of adultery. In a case in whiclum application wag made for the restitution of conjugal j rights, the Judge made an order, but I said the matter ended there. It was formenlv a ground for divorce, hut the Legislature decided the method was too easy a one. .Ur. Baume s'aid the ease showed the folly of lust year's legislation. It was n great pity the Legislature did not permit the release of parties who found it impossible to live together. The Judge agreed and said .some people seemed to think it was better for people to live apart and husbands to leave their wives to commit adultery than that they should be freed from the marriage ibond. The amendment m the law, promoted immorality in a very I marked degree.
