ASSESSMENT COURT.

IXVJCRCAROIU, OUJECTIOXS UPHELD. By Telegraph.—Press Association. InvcrcargHl, I, ; ist Xiglit. The sitting of the Assessment Court ended rather ahruptlv to-dav. Of ten objections heard on Monday 'eight were sustained and reductions .made bv the Court. At the rei|ucst of the (iovernnienl representatives, the Court considered to-day the valuations of several important Toy street properties, and rednctitms were ordered. This indicated that in the opinion- of tire Court the general level of the valuations was too high, and that jirobablv reductions would .lie made in most of the cases remaining. Mr. Dugdale (valuer) stated that owing to the reductions made he would recommend „ revision, and asked for an adjournment so that he might communicate with the Vainer-General. If the Court adjourned ,]ie wmild ask his chief for a. reconsideration of the properties of nil tliose who did not appear, as it would lie manifestly unfair to reduce the values of .those' who enme forward and leave the properties of those who did come forward as thev were at present Personally, he thought it not at all likely that the roll would be made satisfactory fo,. this year.

/Hie Court was accordingly adjourned sine die. '
