Prisoner endeavoured, without much success, to prove that ne drunk. The jury, without retiring, brought in a verdict of guilty, and prisoner was remanded for sentence. Knmeka, a -Maori, was convicted of having fraudulently converted various sums of money to his own uso. He was sentenced to a year's imprisonment with hard labor.
