The Lincoln committee, in writing to the Kdncalion Board, says: ■'The residence, which is about a mile away from the .school, is not only too smail for a man wil.li a family, but also 100 antiquated and out-of-date to .ie habitable."
The Wellington City Council rcce-.iUy approached the (lovernmeut and nsk»d that any old pieces of ordnance in the possession of the Defence Department, and suitable for placing in reserves or parks might be handed over to the Council for thin purpose. The Defence Minister. The audit of the school committees'] iccounts has been completed, and Mr. I Whitcombe, the Education Hoard's secretary anil auditor of these accounts, looks'relieved. On the whole the accounts have been less trouble to audit I than in previous years. There were a few exceptions. The Kolmratahi Committee omitted to forward the hank book, and Waitara's vouchers were* not all produced. Pukearuhc, an old offender, forwarded no books at all.
At the 'quarterly meeting ot the Clifton Lodge of Drnida, held in Waitara on Monday evening, there was a large number of members of the- Order to hear the address of the president of the Taranaki Friendly Societies Hospital Association. After the usual lodge business, the Arch Druid called upon J!ro. 11. J. Hobbs to address the meeting, which he did at some length, covering tho period from the Association's early days up to the present. After several questions had been asked and answered, a proposition was moved by Bio. Proctor and seconded by llro. Farmer, "That the members of Clifton Lodge join the Association straightway." The Arch /Druid called for a show of hands, and every member in. the room, over thirty, voted in favor. It was announced during the evening that llro. Gilbert, of Moturon Lodge, would visit Clifton Lodge on next lodge night and speak against the Association. A hearty vote of thanks to Bro. Hobbs for his address and assistance was carried by acclamation.
